Meet the Board!


President
Emma Dreispiel Juan
Emma is a senior in CBE interested in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Her family is Argentinian but she grew up in Colombia, and her favorite foods are arepa and empanadas. In her free time, she loves to read and dance. She has a slight coffee addiction, but it's not as bad as Trent's.

VP of Finance
Liz Ramos
Elizabeth is a senior from Southern California in the College of Arts & Sciences studying biochemistry and biophysics in the Vagelos MLS program simultaneously completing her masters in chemistry. She plans to apply to MD-PhD programs and is passionate about her current research aimed at studying immune crosstalk in early life and women’s health. She enjoys reading, golf, yoga, and baking

Alumni/Membership Chair
Andrea Perez Pizarro
Andrea is a junior from Guadalajara, Mexico majoring in Bioengineering and minoring in International Development and Chemistry. She is the Social Chair for SHPE and Vice President of Mex@Penn. She is also involved with the Center for Autism Research and Rehabilitation Robotics Laboratory. In her free time, Andrea likes to go to the gym and hang out with her friends.

Community Outreach
Andres Mondragon
Andrés is a graduate student from Lima, Peru currently pursuing an MS in Computer Science. He recently also graduated from Penn with a BA in Economics and minors in Data Science and Statistics. Outside of academics, Andrés enjoys visiting new restaurants, practicing French, and discovering new artists on Spotify.

Social Chair
Sergio Torres
Sergio Torres is a grad student in Mechanical Engineering. When he is not in Towne working on projects, he likes to play soccer, go to the gym, and host grill nights. He is also a member of Theta Tau, a co-ed engineering fraternity on campus, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Graduate Liaison
Alexander Bolanos-Campos
Alexander is a second year Bioengineering Ph.D. student working in Dr. Ottman Tertuliano's Lab. Alexander is currently investigate how bone cells inside a 3D nano-scaffold respond to uniaxial compressions. Outside of the lab, he reads sci-fi and fantasy books, listens to Banda and Latino pop, and playing video games.

College Chair
Luisa López Monzón
Luisa is a Guatemalan freshman at the College planning to major in biology. She’s interested in biotech and biomedicine (she’s not pre-med!!). Furthermore she plans to pursue a PhD and help I’m her free time she does STEM outreach through social media and through her NGO. She wishes to help improve Guatemalan indigenous communities healthcare and education access. Lastly, she loves to do DIYs, read, hear and play music and try to bake :)
